Grade 0 Certified | £6,000 Cash / £60,000 Valuables | Sold Secure Silver Gun Safe
The Burton Warden MKII is a high-security gun safe designed for customers who want considerably greater protection than a conventional gun cabinet.
Independently tested to EN 1143-1 Grade 0, the Warden carries a recommended £6,000 cash / £60,000 valuables rating and combines substantial burglary resistance with secure storage for shotguns and rifles.
It is also independently tested and certified to Sold Secure SS302:2020 Silver for firearm storage and built to the UK Police Preferred Specification through Secured by Design.
For additional protection, the Warden also provides up to 30 minutes of fire protection for paper, making it an exceptionally well-rounded security solution for valuable firearms and other possessions.
SafeFort offers the Warden in 6 Gun and 14 Gun sizes, with a choice of High-Security Key or Electronic PIN locking.
EN 1143-1 Grade 0 Security
Unlike a conventional steel gun cabinet, the Burton Warden MKII has been independently attack tested to EN 1143-1 Grade 0.
This provides a manufacturer recommended:
£6,000 Cash Rating
or
£60,000 Valuables Rating
The Grade 0 construction makes the Warden particularly attractive for customers storing valuable shotguns or rifles who want the additional reassurance of a recognised burglary-resistant safe.
The Warden can also be used to protect other valuables alongside firearms, subject to available internal space and your insurer's requirements.
Sold Secure Silver Certified Gun Protection
The Warden has also been independently tested and certified to Firearms Cabinets SS302:2020 Silver by Sold Secure.
It is additionally built to the UK Police Preferred Specification through Secured by Design.
This combination of dedicated firearm testing and EN 1143-1 burglary resistance makes the Warden a significant security upgrade from a conventional gun cabinet.
Final acceptance of any firearm storage arrangement and its installation remains subject to the requirements of the relevant Firearms Licensing Officer.
6 or 14 Gun Capacity
SafeFort offers two versions of the Warden MKII.
Warden 6 Gun
The narrower model provides secure storage for up to 6 shotguns or rifles while maintaining a relatively compact footprint.
With an external width of approximately 460mm, it is an excellent choice where installation space is restricted but a high level of security is required.
Warden 14 Gun
The larger model provides storage for up to 14 shotguns or rifles.
Its substantially wider interior provides considerably more flexibility for larger collections and makes it easier to organise firearms without overcrowding the cabinet.
For customers with a growing collection or a mixture of different firearm configurations, the 14 Gun model provides an impressive amount of secure storage.
Actual capacity will depend on the dimensions and configuration of the individual firearms being stored.
Suitable for Shotguns & Rifles
The Warden is designed to accommodate both shotguns and rifles.
Its generous internal depth also allows it to accommodate most scopes and moderators, making it significantly more versatile than many shallower conventional gun cabinets.
High-density foam gun holders help keep firearms organised and securely positioned within the safe.
This makes the Warden particularly suitable for customers with a mixed collection of sporting firearms.
Internal Lockable Ammunition Compartment
A dedicated lockable internal ammunition compartment provides separate secure storage within the safe.
The compartment spans the internal width of the cabinet, providing useful space for ammunition, cartridges and other smaller shooting-related items.
The 6 Gun model incorporates an ammunition compartment measuring approximately:
195 × 340 × 270mm
The larger 14 Gun model increases this to approximately:
195 × 760 × 270mm
This gives the 14 Gun model particularly generous separate ammunition storage.
Key or Electronic Locking
Both Warden sizes are available from SafeFort with a choice of High-Security Key or Electronic PIN locking.
Key Locking
The high-security mechanical key option provides straightforward and dependable access without batteries or PIN codes.
It is an excellent choice for customers who prefer traditional mechanical operation.
Electronic PIN Locking
Electronic locking provides convenient keyless access and removes the need to store and manage the main safe key.
This can be particularly attractive where the Warden is accessed regularly or where PIN-code operation is preferred.
Whichever option is selected, the lock forms part of the Warden's high-security specification.
Three-Way Locking
The Warden incorporates a substantial three-way locking bolt system, providing protection around multiple sides of the safe door.
This is a significant step up in construction from the relatively simple locking arrangements typically found on conventional lightweight gun cabinets.
Combined with the Warden's substantial body construction and independent attack testing, it provides serious resistance against forced entry.
Up to 30 Minutes' Fire Protection
In addition to its burglary and firearm security credentials, the Warden has been independently tested to EN 15659 and provides up to 30 minutes of fire protection for paper.
This provides useful additional protection where important paperwork or documents are stored alongside firearms and valuables.
The fire protection relates to paper and should not be interpreted as providing equivalent certified protection for digital media or other particularly heat-sensitive items.
Substantial Construction
The difference between the Warden and a conventional gun cabinet becomes particularly apparent in its weight.
The 6 Gun model weighs approximately 205kg, while the 14 Gun model weighs approximately 325kg.
This substantial construction reflects the Warden's position as a genuine high-security safe rather than simply a steel firearm cabinet.
It also means that delivery access and final positioning should be carefully considered before ordering.
Back & Base Fixing
The Warden incorporates both back and base fixing provision, allowing it to be securely anchored to an appropriate structural surface.
Correct anchoring is essential to achieve the intended level of security and should be considered as part of the overall installation.
Given the Warden's weight, security rating and intended use, SafeFort strongly recommends professional installation.
Our installation service can ensure that access, positioning and anchoring requirements are considered before the safe is installed.
SafeFort Recommendation
The Burton Warden MKII is our recommendation for firearm owners who want to move beyond the security provided by a conventional gun cabinet.
Its combination of EN 1143-1 Grade 0 burglary protection, Sold Secure Silver firearm certification and Secured by Design Police Preferred status provides an impressive security specification for valuable sporting firearms.
The additional £6,000 cash / £60,000 valuables rating also makes the Warden particularly attractive where valuable watches, jewellery, cash or other possessions may need to be protected alongside firearms.
For smaller collections, the 6 Gun model provides serious security within a relatively narrow 460mm-wide cabinet.
Where installation space allows, however, the 14 Gun Warden is our preferred option for larger or growing collections. Its substantially wider interior provides much greater flexibility, particularly for scoped rifles and firearms with larger stocks or accessories.
Both sizes are available with Key or Electronic PIN locking, allowing customers to choose between straightforward mechanical operation and convenient keyless access.
The Warden's weight is also worth considering. At approximately 205kg or 325kg, this is a substantially constructed security safe and professional installation is strongly recommended.
For customers comparing the Warden with the Burton Pioneer, the distinction is straightforward:
The Pioneer is designed to provide practical, dedicated firearm storage.
The Warden MKII is the natural upgrade where the customer wants independently certified Grade 0 burglary resistance, a £60,000 valuables rating, Sold Secure Silver firearm protection and additional fire protection.
For valuable sporting firearms and collections where a conventional gun cabinet no longer provides the desired level of protection, the Burton Warden MKII is an excellent choice.
Cash and valuables ratings are manufacturer recommendations rather than guarantees of insurance cover. Individual insurers may specify different limits, security standards or installation requirements. Firearm storage and installation requirements may also vary according to individual circumstances and the relevant police firearms licensing authority. Customers should confirm any specific requirements with their insurer and/or Firearms Licensing Officer.
