The Phoenix Battery Titan BS1280 Series is a compact fire-resistant safe designed for the safer storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries in homes, offices, workshops and other commercial environments.

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are now widely used in power tools, garden equipment, e-bikes, e-scooters, drones, laptops, mobile phones and many other everyday devices. Damaged, defective or incorrectly charged batteries can present a significant fire risk through a process known as thermal runaway.

The Battery Titan provides a dedicated fire-resistant location in which rechargeable batteries can be stored and charged, combining 60-minute fire protection, integrated power sockets, smoke detection and alarm within a compact safe.

Available in three sizes from 19 to 36 litres, with a choice of Key, Electronic or Fingerprint locking.

Integrated Battery Charging

Each Battery Titan incorporates internal power outlets, allowing compatible battery chargers to be operated inside the safe.

Charging capacity varies according to size:

BS1281 – 2 Power Sockets
One double PDU provides charging for smaller battery requirements.

BS1282 – 2 Power Sockets
One double PDU combined with increased internal storage capacity.

BS1283 – 4 Power Sockets
Two double PDUs provide increased charging capacity for multiple batteries or chargers.

This makes the Battery Titan particularly useful as a central charging point for rechargeable equipment.

Smoke Detection & Alarm

The current Battery Titan specification incorporates an integrated smoke detector and alarm.

This provides an important additional early-warning measure should smoke be detected within the safe while batteries are being stored or charged.

Combined with its fire-resistant construction, this makes the Battery Titan considerably more suitable for battery management than simply charging batteries within a conventional cupboard or storage area.

60-Minute Fire Protection

All three Battery Titan models are tested and certified to:

NT Fire 017-60

providing 60 minutes of certified fire protection for paper documents.

The safe's fire-resistant construction therefore provides a substantial protective barrier against an external fire.

The NT Fire 017 certification relates specifically to the protection of paper against an external fire and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the safe will contain a lithium-ion battery thermal-runaway event for 60 minutes.

Fire & Impact Tested

The Battery Titan has also undergone a 9.1 metre fire and impact drop test.

This test assesses the safe's resistance to the type of impact that could occur if it were to fall through the burning floors of a building during a serious fire.

Double-Wall Fire-Resistant Construction

The Battery Titan features robust double-wall construction filled with Phoenix's patented Styronite F fire-resistant insulation.

This provides the safe with substantial strength together with resistance to fire and heat.

The exterior is finished in a high-quality, scratch-resistant White RAL 9003 finish and carries appropriate battery warning labels.

Key, Electronic or Fingerprint Locking

All three sizes are available with a choice of three locking systems.

Key Lock – K

A high-quality Key Lock supplied with two keys, providing simple and reliable mechanical access.

Electronic Lock – E

An advanced high-security Electronic Lock featuring scrambled-code functionality for convenient keyless access.

Electronic models can also be specified with an optional bright internal LED light, illuminating the interior when required.

Fingerprint Lock – F

An advanced touchscreen keypad and biometric lock featuring:

• Up to 32 fingerprints

• Hidden code
• Scrambled-code functionality

The Fingerprint option is particularly useful where several authorised users require convenient access to the battery safe.

Security Protection

In addition to its fire-resistant battery-storage role, Phoenix recommends the Battery Titan for an overnight risk of:

This is a manufacturer-recommended rating rather than an independently stated EN 14450 or EN 1143-1 burglary classification.

Secure Floor Fixing

The Battery Titan is prepared for secure floor fixing, with suitable fixing bolts for concrete floors supplied.

The Phoenix Battery Titan BS1280 is an excellent choice for customers who need a compact, dedicated location for storing and charging lithium-ion batteries.

Its relatively small footprint makes it particularly suitable for homes, offices, small workshops and businesses where only a limited number of batteries need to be stored or charged at any one time.

The BS1281 is the most compact option at 19 litres, while the BS1282 provides additional storage flexibility with an adjustable shelf. For customers requiring greater capacity or the ability to operate more chargers simultaneously, the BS1283 increases capacity to 36 litres and provides four internal charging sockets.

Compared with the larger Phoenix Battery Fighter BS0440, the Battery Titan is primarily the more compact solution. The Battery Fighter offers substantially greater capacities, more charging sockets and up to 120-minute paper fire protection, making it better suited to larger commercial battery inventories.

For smaller-scale applications where the priority is compact battery storage, integrated charging, fire-resistant construction and early smoke detection, the Phoenix Battery Titan BS1280 provides a practical and reassuring solution.
