Grade 1 Certified | £10,000 Cash / £100,000 Valuables | Sold Secure Gold Gun Safe
The Burton Gamekeeper Gold is a premium high-security gun safe designed for valuable shotguns and rifles where substantially greater protection than a conventional gun cabinet is required.
Independently tested and certified to EN 1143-1 Grade 1, the Gamekeeper Gold carries a recommended £10,000 cash / £100,000 valuables rating, providing serious burglary protection for valuable firearms and other possessions.
It is also independently tested and certified to Sold Secure SS302:2020 Gold for firearm storage, AiS insurance approved and built to the UK Police Preferred Specification through Secured by Design.
SafeFort offers the Gamekeeper Gold in 5 Gun and 9 Gun versions, both available with a choice of High-Security Key or Electronic PIN locking.
EN 1143-1 Grade 1 Certified Security
The Gamekeeper Gold has been independently attack tested and certified by ECB-S to EN 1143-1 Grade 1.
This provides a manufacturer recommended:
£10,000 Cash Rating
or
£100,000 Valuables Rating
This makes the Gamekeeper Gold particularly attractive for customers with valuable sporting firearms who want the additional reassurance of a recognised burglary-resistant safe.
Subject to available space and your insurer's requirements, the safe can also provide secure storage for other high-value possessions alongside your firearms.
Sold Secure Gold Firearm Protection
The Gamekeeper has also been independently tested and certified to Firearms Cabinets SS302:2020 – Gold by Sold Secure.
This is complemented by:
AiS Insurance Approval
and
Secured by Design – Police Preferred Specification
The combination of EN 1143-1 Grade 1 burglary certification and Sold Secure Gold firearm certification places the Gamekeeper Gold firmly within Burton's premium high-security gun-safe range.
5 or 9 Gun Capacity
SafeFort offers both current Gamekeeper Gold sizes.
Designed for Shotguns & Rifles
The Gamekeeper Gold is designed to accommodate both shotguns and rifles and has sufficient internal depth for most scopes and moderators.
A height-adjustable high-density foam gun holder allows firearms to be positioned securely and can accommodate both single and double-barrelled guns.
A protective foam butt holder in the base helps keep stocks organised while reducing the risk of unnecessary movement or damage.
This makes the Gamekeeper particularly suitable for customers with a mixed collection of sporting firearms.
Lockable Ammunition Compartment – 9 Gun
The Gamekeeper Gold 9 incorporates a separate internal lockable ammunition compartment.
The compartment is secured by its own 7-lever double-bitted key lock, providing dedicated storage for ammunition and other smaller shooting-related items.
The ammunition compartment reduces the available internal gun-storage height by approximately 195mm.
The 5 Gun model does not incorporate the internal ammunition compartment, an important distinction when choosing between the two sizes.
High-Security Key or Electronic Locking
Both Gamekeeper sizes are available from SafeFort with a choice of Key or Electronic locking.
High-Security Key Lock
The mechanical version uses a high-security 11-lever double-bitted key lock, with two keys supplied.
The lock is certified to VdS Class 2 and EN 1300 Class B, providing a high-security mechanical solution without batteries or PIN codes.
Electronic PIN Lock
The electronic version provides convenient keyless access for customers who prefer PIN-code operation.
Electronic locking removes the need to conceal or manage the main safe key and can be particularly attractive where the safe is accessed regularly.
Both options allow the same high-security Gamekeeper construction to be selected around the customer's preferred method of access.
Three-Way Locking System
The Gamekeeper incorporates a substantial three-way locking system.
The door is secured by 25mm diameter locking bolts, providing protection around multiple sides of the safe door.
The door can also open through approximately 180 degrees, providing excellent access to the interior and making it considerably easier to remove or replace individual firearms.
Cleaning Rod Holder
A dedicated cleaning rod holder is incorporated into the Gamekeeper Gold.
Although a relatively small detail, it is a useful feature for sporting shooters and demonstrates that the Gamekeeper has been designed specifically around practical firearm storage rather than simply adapting a conventional security safe.
Substantial Grade 1 Construction
The Gamekeeper Gold is exceptionally substantial.
The 5 Gun model weighs approximately 365kg, while the 9 Gun model weighs approximately 520kg.
This considerable weight reflects its Grade 1 burglary-resistant construction and clearly differentiates the Gamekeeper from conventional steel gun cabinets.
Delivery access, floor loading, final positioning and anchoring should therefore all be considered before ordering.
Back & Base Fixing
The Gamekeeper Gold must be correctly anchored to maintain its security certification.
The safe incorporates base and rear fixing provision and should be securely anchored to an appropriate structural surface.
Burton supplies a substantial concrete fixing bolt, although the suitability of the fixing method will depend upon the construction of the property and final installation location.
Given the weight, security rating and intended use of the Gamekeeper, SafeFort strongly recommends professional installation.
SafeFort Recommendation
The Burton Gamekeeper Gold is an exceptional choice for customers with valuable sporting firearms who want one of the strongest dedicated gun-storage solutions within the Burton range.
The key difference is its combination of EN 1143-1 Grade 1 burglary certification and Sold Secure Gold firearm certification.
This provides a recommended £10,000 cash / £100,000 valuables rating, while its AiS approval and Secured by Design Police Preferred status add further reassurance for customers seeking recognised independent security credentials.
For smaller collections, the 5 Gun model provides an impressive level of protection within a relatively narrow 450mm-wide safe. It is particularly attractive where installation space is limited but security is the priority.
For larger or growing collections, we recommend the 9 Gun Gamekeeper Gold. Its wider interior provides significantly greater flexibility and it also adds a separate lockable ammunition compartment, making it the more complete solution where sufficient installation space is available.
Both sizes can be specified with either High-Security Key or Electronic PIN locking, allowing the safe to be tailored to the customer's preferred method of access.
For customers comparing the Gamekeeper with the Burton Warden, there is a clear progression:
The Warden provides Grade 0 security, £6,000 cash / £60,000 valuables protection and Sold Secure Silver firearm certification.
The Gamekeeper Gold moves up to Grade 1 security, £10,000 cash / £100,000 valuables protection and Sold Secure Gold firearm certification.
For valuable shotguns, rifles and sporting collections where a conventional gun cabinet – or even a Grade 0 gun safe – no longer provides the desired level of protection, the Burton Gamekeeper Gold is our premium recommendation.
Cash and valuables ratings are manufacturer recommendations rather than guarantees of insurance cover. Individual insurers may specify different limits, security standards or installation requirements. Firearm storage and installation requirements can also vary according to individual circumstances and the relevant police firearms licensing authority. Customers should confirm any specific requirements with their insurer and/or Firearms Licensing Officer.
