Up to Grade 1 Security | Up to £100,000 Valuables | Up to 60-Minute Fire Protection
The Burton FireMax range provides exceptionally large-capacity secure storage for businesses, organisations and professional environments requiring protection for documents, valuables and other important contents.
With capacities of approximately 478 to 550 litres, the FireMax combines the convenience and storage capacity of a large security cabinet with progressively higher levels of fire and burglary protection.
Three models allow the level of protection to be matched to the application:
FireMax 30 – 30-minute fire protection for paper documents
FireMax 4/60 – S2 certified security with a £4,000 cash / £40,000 valuables rating and 60-minute certified fire protection
FireMax 10/60 – Grade 1 certified security with a £10,000 cash / £100,000 valuables rating and 60-minute certified fire protection
This makes the FireMax particularly suitable for offices, schools, universities, healthcare environments and businesses requiring considerably more secure storage capacity than a conventional safe can provide.
Choose the Right Level of Protection
Although all three FireMax cabinets share a similar full-height format, there are important differences in their security and fire protection.
FireMax 30 – High-Capacity Document Fire Protection
The FireMax 30 is primarily designed as a large-capacity fire-resistant document cabinet.
It provides 30 minutes of fire protection for paper documents, having been fire tested at temperatures of up to 900°C.
With approximately 478 litres of internal capacity, it is an excellent choice for organisations requiring large-volume protection for important paperwork and records where independently certified burglary protection is not required.
Typical contents include:
- Business records
- Contracts
- Financial documents
- Personnel records
- Property documents
- Exam papers
- Certificates
- Other important paper files
The FireMax 30 is available with Key or Electronic locking and incorporates height-adjustable shelving.
FireMax 4/60 – S2 Security + 60-Minute Fire Protection
The FireMax 4/60 adds independently certified burglary protection to the FireMax concept.
It is independently attack and fire tested and certified by ECB-S to EN 14450 S2 and EN 15659 LFS 60P.
This provides a recommended:
£4,000 Cash Rating
£40,000 Valuables Rating
together with:
60 Minutes' Certified Fire Protection for Paper Documents
The FireMax 4/60 is also AiS insurance approved and built to the UK Police Preferred Specification through Secured by Design.
With approximately 550 litres of internal capacity, it provides an unusual combination of very substantial storage capacity, recognised security certification and serious document fire protection.
FireMax 10/60 – Grade 1 Security + 60-Minute Fire Protection
For applications requiring a higher level of burglary protection, the FireMax 10/60 is independently attack and fire tested and certified by ECB-S to EN 1143-1 Grade 1 and EN 15659 LFS 60P.
This provides a recommended:
£10,000 Cash Rating
£100,000 Valuables Rating
together with:
60 Minutes' Certified Fire Protection for Paper Documents
The FireMax 10/60 is also AiS insurance approved and built to the UK Police Preferred Specification through Secured by Design.
With approximately 548 litres of internal capacity, it provides an exceptional amount of secure storage for important documents, cash, valuables and other sensitive contents.
For businesses requiring both substantial capacity and recognised burglary resistance, the FireMax 10/60 is the highest-security model within the FireMax range.
60-Minute Certified Fire Protection
Both the FireMax 4/60 and FireMax 10/60 are independently certified to EN 15659 LFS 60P.
This provides up to 60 minutes of certified fire protection for paper documents, with testing at temperatures of up to 900°C.
This makes them particularly suitable for protecting important records such as:
- Contracts
- Legal documents
- Financial records
- Personnel records
- Examination papers
- Certificates
- Property records
- Business continuity documents
The LFS 60P certification relates specifically to paper documents and should not be interpreted as providing the same level of certified protection for digital media, hard drives or other heat-sensitive data-storage devices.
Exceptional Storage Capacity
The FireMax range is designed for applications where the capacity of a conventional safe simply isn't sufficient.
Depending on the model selected, internal capacity ranges from approximately 478 to 550 litres.
The tall cabinet format provides considerably more usable storage for files, folders, archive boxes and larger quantities of paperwork.
Height-adjustable shelving allows the interior to be configured around the contents being protected.
Flexible Internal Storage Options
The FireMax can be configured to suit different professional storage requirements.
Depending on the model and specification, optional internal fittings can include:
- Pull-out shelves
- Hanging file frames
- Lockable internal coffer
These options can be particularly useful where the cabinet is being used for organised document storage or where a separate secure compartment is required within the main cabinet.
Optional fittings may increase manufacturing lead time and cost. Please contact SafeFort to discuss your requirements.
Key or Electronic Locking
The FireMax range can be specified with high-security locking appropriate to the selected model.
Key Locking
Provides straightforward mechanical access without the need for PIN codes or batteries.
Electronic PIN Locking
Provides convenient keyless operation and is particularly useful in workplaces where authorised access needs to be managed without issuing physical safe keys.
Additional specialist locking configurations may also be available for higher-security applications.
Please contact SafeFort if you require a particular locking or access-control configuration.
Designed for Commercial & Professional Environments
The FireMax range is particularly suited to organisations requiring secure storage for substantial quantities of documents or other important contents.
Typical applications include:
- Offices
- Schools and colleges
- Universities
- Examination centres
- Healthcare environments
- Professional practices
- Government and public-sector organisations
- Retail businesses
- Commercial premises
- Records and archive storage
The combination of large internal capacity and selectable levels of security makes the FireMax particularly useful where an ordinary fire cabinet offers insufficient security but a conventional safe does not provide enough storage space.
Secure Base Fixing
All FireMax models incorporate base fixing provision.
Secure anchoring is particularly important for the independently certified FireMax 4/60 and FireMax 10/60 models and should form part of the installation specification.
The cabinets range from approximately 142kg to 650kg, so delivery access, floor loading, positioning and final fixing should all be considered before ordering.
For the heavier security-rated models, professional installation is strongly recommended.
SafeFort Recommendation
The Burton FireMax range is an excellent solution for customers who need significantly more document and valuables storage capacity than a conventional safe can provide.
The important consideration is selecting the appropriate level of protection.
Choose the FireMax 30 where the primary requirement is protecting a large volume of important paper documents against fire and independently certified burglary resistance is not required.
Move to the FireMax 4/60 where both fire and security matter. Its EN 14450 S2 certification, recommended £4,000 cash / £40,000 valuables rating and 60-minute LFS 60P fire protection provide an excellent balance for offices and professional environments.
For higher-value contents, the FireMax 10/60 is our preferred option. Its EN 1143-1 Grade 1 certification, £10,000 cash / £100,000 valuables rating and 60-minute certified document fire protection provide the strongest overall protection within the FireMax range.
The FireMax 10/60 is particularly compelling for organisations storing a combination of important records, confidential paperwork, cash and valuable equipment, where both capacity and independently certified security are important.
For customers considering the FireMax 4/60 or 10/60, SafeFort recommends professional installation and confirmation of the required security level with your insurer before purchase.
Cash and valuables ratings are manufacturer recommendations rather than guarantees of insurance cover. Individual insurers may specify different limits or installation requirements. Fire certification applies to paper documents and does not imply equivalent protection for digital media or other heat-sensitive items.
